Giles Simpson

Giles has been involved with Dorking Stoves since 1984. A HETAS qualified and registered installer, Giles has worked in all areas of the business from installation, through sales, purchasing and accounts and now looks after the day to day running of the company.

Giles runs a Jotul F400 in Pewter enamel at home and quotes 16 hours as his longest ever burn time. In his spare time he enjoys family time, skiing and the occasional round of golf.

Hannah Simpson

Hannah graduated from University with a Joint Honours degree in English and Drama. Hannah is HETAS qualified. She has a wide and detailed knowledge of the product, design and applications, and a great enthusiasm and thirst for new product information. Hannah has many favourite stoves and fireplaces!

Hannah is running our new Guildford showroom which opened in May 2010. Away from the business she enjoys Salsa and performing in local Drama Societies. She has a successful second career as a Vocalist.

Chris Hinton

Chris joined the company in 2007 after a long stint in management at Serck and now manages the showroom at Dorking. He is HETAS qualified and has wide ranging product knowledge.

Chris is a fan of the Wessex range of stone fireplaces having had one in his last house and in his current home he runs a Stovax Huntingdon 30 with Portchester stone surround which he raves about.

A doting husband, father, and film buff, he can also occasionally be found on the golf course or keeping his eye on Crystal Palace FC.

Louis Boothman

Louis joined the firm in 2008 and after spending a period on the installation side, has now moved inside to work on showroom and customer service duties. Louis is HETAS qualified and carries out some of the site visits. He has extensive product and application knowledge.

Ross Jones

Ross joined the Guildford branch in 2010 after serving in the British army for four years. Since then, he has keenly been getting to grips with the vast array of information needed for his role in showroom and customer services. Ross has a particular penchant for the Euroheat “C” range. His other favourite is the Scan Andersen 4-5 on short legs and he is looking forward to putting one in his own house.

Dan Barton

The most recent recruit to the Guildford branch, Dan arrived with us in 2010 and has been quickly soaking up the detailed information required of his role in showroom and customer services. A dab hand in stove lighting, Dan is a particular fan of the mesmeric flames of the Stovax Riva range and the traditional style of the Jotuls.

Kim Aldridge

Kim arrived with us in 2009 and after working alongside Hannah for several months, now looks after the office at Dorking. With a Riva 55 at home she is fully qualified to explain lighting techniques and the benefits of dry seasoned logs!

Phil Simpson

Phil looks after the warehouse and deliveries having previously been our CORGI registered gas fitter, and still retains his HETAS qualified status. There is not much that Phil hasn’t been involved in on the fireplace/stove side and he’s a mine of information on technical and installation aspects as you’d expect after nearly 15 years in the role.

In winter Phil enjoys his Dovre 250 woodburner which keeps the sitting room very cosy. Phil’s Grandson is his pride and joy, whilst as a Gooner, the Arsenal Football Club ensures his blood pressure gets the occasional workout.

Peter Tidball

Peter has been with the firm since 2010 and is quickly developing a thorough knowledge of stoves and fireplaces. The welsh wonder lights a mean fire and has become a devoted fan of the Bergen stove from Nordpeis.

Installers

Dorking Stoves is proud to employ an experienced team of fireplace and chimney engineers. Depending on your requirements, you are likely to encounter Dan, Jim, Jozef, Michal, Mike, Simon or Sam. We have recently brought in a new Contracts Manager, Steve who has extensive experience in heating design and who will be working to ensure our installation service operates as smoothly as possible. 

We are pleased to say that there are now 11 HETAS qualified staff within the company - of which 6 are on installation side - leaving 5 others in the showrooms.

Wendy Nixon

Apart from family, Wendy is our longest serving staff member and has been looking after the books for about 14 years now.  Working behind the scenes, Wendy deals with all account queries for Dorking Stoves.

A soft touch when it comes to animals, she is never short of her latest tales of four legged exploits at home or with friends and almost invariably looks after all of her family’s animals – whether they’re supposed to live with her or not.

Brian Simpson

Chairman, Consultant, CEO, MD, Giles’ and Hannah’s father, Phil’s brother, Brian has been heavily involved with the business over the last 30 years or so, originally from a manufacturing and engineering background. Brian still acts as a consultant and helps cover holidays and busy times, whilst now concentrating more on other business and property interests, especially in the South of France!! And if that sounds like an easy life, 2010 saw him drive the creation and setting up of the most exciting and comprehensive new showroom in the Land - our new Guildford Showroom!
